the Indiana Chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research

how it could be considered suitable for a diabetic?
Winter Crisp
Filling
1/2 c. sugar
3 T white flour
1 t lemon peel, grated
3/4 t lemon juice
5 c. apples, unpeeled, sliced
1 c. cranberries
Topping
2/3 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
2 t ground cinnamon

Please help

My father is a 47 year old diabetic who has been noncompliant for
about fifteen years (basically since diagnosis). He is currently in
a nursing home. He is on the following meds:
1. Demadex
2. Protonix
3. Plavix
4. Tetracylcine
5. Cardizem CD
6. Sodium Bicarbonate
7. Zarozyline
8. Feasal
9. Celexa
10. Insulin
11. Procrit
Forgive me on the spelling of these.

TIME’s poster girl

Even without the diabetes, what were that girl’s parents thinking? No child of
11 ought to be weighing 220 lbs. They should have done something about that
weight problem long before she became diabetically symptomatic; I’m tempted to
say that their failure to do so might even have constituted child neglect.

I just found out something for real. January 1999 my diabetes was out
of control and I almost died. Thanks to God and a quick thinking
Diabetes team, they pulled my body systems out of shutting down one
by one. It took me 3 years to get well enough to work.
Then I was told, “Avoid stress as much as possible”. I said, “How?
Going to work each day will bring some stresses.”
Now I know why they said that. I worked at a job, where I did so well
I got a promotion to Headquarters office as Director of Routing &
Personnel. The job wasn’t hard, but required alot of thinking and
attention detail. While my mind loved it, my body didn’t. The doctors
had to increase my diabetes meds 4 times the amount, put me on 2 high
blood pressure medicines, and then my kidneys were having problems
and wanting to shut down.
What happens is the stress hormones effect your blood sugars, which
in turn effects also your blood pressure, your kidneys, your retna’s
