Could somebody please explain to me. . .
This rec. was sent to me on Another List. Could someone please explain to me
how it could be considered suitable for a diabetic?
Winter Crisp
Filling
1/2 c. sugar
3 T white flour
1 t lemon peel, grated
3/4 t lemon juice
5 c. apples, unpeeled, sliced
1 c. cranberries
Topping
2/3 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
2 t ground cinnamon
1 T butter or soft margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 355 degrees F
1. In a medium bowl combine filling ingredients; stir to mix well and spoon
into a 6 cup baking dish.
2. In a small bowl combine topping ingredients; stir to mix.
3. Sprinkle topping over filling.
Bake 40-50 minutes or until filling is bubbly and top is brown. Serve warm or
at room temperature. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
