Carmen,

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

I looked at your profile and saw the nice design you had put on
there. I’m looking for a design to paint with watercolor but would
like to know what it means. Also I would like an enlargement of the
design if possible. I appreciate it if you can send it to me with the
explanation. I’m at jovan@… Thank you.
John. Please put your name Carmen on the subject line because many e-
mails I don’t open.

OH NO! The prodigal yara returns!

Hi taty !!!!
I’m paying you guys a visit after all this time. I’ve not been well but let’s
not
talk about that. I’ll talk about my burning desire to live more fully, more
compassionately, more lovingly than ever before. This last bout with cancer
really threw me for a loop. A bad one. I slowly deteriorated mentally and
physically with no real clue as to why. I knew that they had detected a tumor
in my brain but at the time, it seemed to have calcified and not be growing at
all. In fact it had not grown, according to the neurologist, for over 40 years.
He told me not to worry so I didn’t. But I never had headaches to warn me
over this time period. Well, in May I started to really decline. Come June I
was really going down fast. I fell several times and I don’t remember tripping.
I just remember walking one moment and being eye to eye with the ground
the next. But as June rolled on, I began to have more and more black outs and
in time I had to ask some friends to help me bathe. I was damned and

September ESQUIRE

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

The September issue of Esquire magazine has an article on the rising number of
diabetics in the US.
I’m glad this is getting out into the popular press. When one tries to talk
about DM as a public health problem, people practically yawn in your face.
HIV/AIDS and breast cancer seem to get all the attention, although diabetes
kills more people each year, IIRC, than either.

FreeStyle v. OneTouchUltra

Due to my insurance, I have been forced to switch from FreeStyle to OneTouch
Ultra.
Would anyone be interested in a slightly used FreeStyle? Please communicate via
private mail.

Hi Everyone

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I checked my email today and realized that Bill (wkarpus) unsubscribed from the
group on July 16. He had signed on to this group some months ago but decided to
leave, he returned to the group because I had asked him to reconsider. I guess
he figured he was causing too much of a commotion and decided to unsubscribe
again.
Peace and Health to all. ~Taty

What does this have to do with diabetes

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

I think Bill made a wonderful point with his post. You cannot look on
the bad or ugly side of anything all the time with out becoming
warped or twisted. And this is especially true with diabetes as any
chronic illness. There is always a bright side to something.

WELCOME GINA. (and Cheeky)

Monday, January 15th, 2007

First off, I like the name Gina, has a nice sound to it. I’m only
plain John and sometimes JohnBen, depending on what mood I’m in.
I’m also type-1 on 6 needles per day for the last 42 years, hopefully
making the 50. My age now is 72. Neuropathy has killed my normal
bladder use and now have to catherterize 4 times daily, have some
other things but the kidneys and eyes are good. I’m very happy about
that! I learned to live with it and keep pretty good control.
This club is not one of the busiest but we manage. Sometimes small
clubs are better than big ones, where you can get lost. Anytime you
want to give advice or want to ask something regarding diabetes just
ask. Nice to see you here.
Hello cheeky. When next we meet again …..you buy the coffee with a
donut. Being dia I only eat the center part.
JohnBen.

Look At

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

I refuse to look at things and call them ugly, for what I contemplate, I become.
I establish a powerful intention to see the beauty of spirit everywhere in this
world. Not only in what is lovely and pleasing, but in what I personally call
unlovely and difficult. The beauty is there to be seen, there to be invoked, and
I do it.
By standing firm on this understanding that what I see, I experience, I begin to
look for the evidence of things not yet seen in my life. Whatever I desire, I
look for it everywhere I am, even in the unlikely places. And I find it, within
my very self, revealed by the power of spirit’s natural and perfect laws of
manifestation. I give thanks for
the way this universe works, and I celebrate the beauty that I discover
everywhere I look.
