My PCP made me attend diabetic education classes and one of the things we were told is that having a reaction to one medication doesn't necessarily mean insulin is the next step. There are several "families" of diabetes meds, and you may just need a different one. My mom had a real bad reaction to glucophage, but is doing real well with glyburide. My aunt can't handle glyburide, but is using the glucovance. Don't give up hope just yet. I will try and get the list of meds and email them to you. I don’t know if this will help, because
