I have had typ2 for about 2 yrs. but never really wanted to accept
it. Now I am, feeling very angry, having some bad side effects. A
little scared. Sometimes feel sad, like I just wish I could eat
normally. My sugar ,was very controlled and now it is out of
controll, it can have such wide swings. Do others have this ?

Hello All
My name is Michael and I was diagnosed with Type 2 about five weeks
ago. To say that my life changed when I was diagnosed would be an
understatement. I never really thought much about what I ate or
drank. As a consequence I was overweight and sluggish. Since I was
diagnosed I have begun to watch what I eat, charting it very
carefully and taking my BS three times a day, once before each meal.
My problem since I have been diagnosed has been the effect Glynase
has on me. Three hours after I take the drug my BS drops to around
40 - that is after a breakfast of Oatmeal, 2eggs, 2 slices of toast
with No sugar strawberry preserves. The first time it dropped so low
I was a bit shakey. Now I guess my system is adjusting to it because
it does not seem to bother me. My doctor is spreading my Glynase
over two doses now, 12 hours apart. This has not seemed to help.
After work, before dinner, my BS

Having Side effects

Monday, October 9th, 2006

Hi everyone, First time posting here, just felt
like I needed to talk and see if anyone is going
through what I am. <br
I was and have had been having side effects from
Glucovance 5/500 for approx. 9 months. Well I called my
doctor, was told to stop taking it and I will be seeing
him this Tuesday. Well I stopped taking it, have been
having heart palpatations {sp} extreme dizziness,
extreme irritability. I found out about this place in
Boston called the Joslin Diabetic Research Center, I
want to go there, only problem of course is getting an
out of network referral from my Doctor, and having
the Insurance company accept the request. This is
just so stressful, I am pretty sure next step is
insulin, which I really don’t have a problem with, but

First time here

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

Hi. This is my first time at this club. My best
friend and my husband are both diabetics. My husband
lives in denial of it for 9 years now. We have had so
many go-arounds. I have gone the gamut from being
patient and understanding to being a raving bitch. Now I
just feel myself withdrawing from him because I am
angry that he does not even try to take care of
himself. We have been married for almost 32 years. He was
diagnosed 9 years ago, and is now suppose to be taking 2
injections a day, plus medication. Long story short, about
two months ago he quit taking his insulin all
together. He doesn’t exercise or watch what he eats (but he
is not overweight). I have nagged him until he now
takes his morning insulin, but not on a regular
schedule. Sometimes at 8 and sometimes closer to noon. He

my mom, stress, and diabetes

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

i don’t have diabetes, but my mom does and i
could use some answers, if thats ok. she doesn’t have
to take shots yet, but she has had such high levels
of stress and depression for so many years that she
has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and now
the beginning stages of diabetes. and all the diet
rules between all the different problems seems to be
making matters worse. her muscles are even starting to
knot up and the dr. gave it a name, but it boils down
to, if she doesn’t relax and calm down, she could end
up crippled and disabled. can stress do all this
stuff to a person? and she’s afraid to eat anything.
any words of wisdom from those who know the ropes?
thanks.<br
