My daughter has been on glargine for about 6
weeks now. (I like the word glargine). She is on a
pump, but not full time. She is doing only meal
boluses. We have been slowly increasing the glargine. She
started out on 18 units and now we are up to 23. Hollie
likes only taking one shot a day, but she said that it
seems to hurt more going in than other insulins. We do
her injections in her stomach. I think it is so
amazing how an insulin can be released in an equal amount
over 24 hours. Her sugars are high after school (200s
to 300s...depending on if it is pizza day). I
suspect because of miscalculations at lunch time...we are
still new at this thing....since the end of July.

John- Hi- I am surprised that you can not get
Lantus yet. <br
the 24 hours and I don't have the violent ups and
downs as much. <br
on this club that have not had good luck with it.
All I can do is respond how it affects me. <br
luck in getting it soon. <br
