I just came into this site after being away for a
week. Yes, my mother is on Glucotrol XL and she was put
on 5 but it didn't work much so her doctor upped it
twice a day and it is working better. No side effects
as of yet. The other med you mentioned was reported
on the news as bad for you....there's all kinds of
people reporting bad effects from it. My mom is

Hi Laurel,<br
or else I would have replied. I am on glucotrol xl,
it was the first med that my doctor started me on
upon diagnosis in April. I started on only 5mg once a
day but that did not seem to work as well as he
wanted, so the doc upped it to 5mg 2x a day. Well, it
worked a little better, but I still was not within
desired range with my BS, so the doc then added
glucophage 1000mg 2x a day with it. So far, this has worked
really well for me. As for side effects, with the
glucotrol, I have noticed absolutely NONE (now the
glucophage, that can sometimes be a different story) Sorry
that I couldn't be of any more assistance, but I
really haven't had, nor have I heard of any problems
with taking the glucotrol XL. I wish you the best, and
<!--more-->
hope that it helps you!<br
