Good morning! Cheeky, I just want you to know
that you are a great asset to this diabetic site. We
are thinking about you with regard to the result of
your test and we hope that your kidneys continue to
function normally. I pray that you never lose your
long-term medical care and that you will continue to
receive good health care for your diabetes.<br
good day.<br

Dear cat<br
times we all have to act with a lot of maturity. my
heart goes out to all the families who suffered a loss
and they definetly don't deserve this suffering they
were all productive, valuable members in their
community and sources of pride for their families. and yes
we are here for diabetes.....that won't leave us no
matter what happens anywhere...today i had my 24hr urine
test results will be availble at the next dr's appt.
iam worried because my sugars have been high nad iam
worried about my kidneys i have had trace protein a few
times; is that an always kidney problem indicator?<br
chills me to the bone to think if we had terror problems
here the first thing that we would lose would be long
term medical care for chronic illnesses like
<!--more-->
ours....beleive me no matter how little you think you are
prepared for this you are still way ahead then all other
parts of the world. no insulin no test trips would mean
certain death for all of those like me in survival of the
fittest iam afraid without my artificial aids i would
rank very low!!! may God protect us from anything and
every evil in future.

Hi Cheeky, I can really understand your not
wanting to discuss this issue here, and I am not going to
take issue with anything anyone has said. I think we
are all here for one reason and that is because we
all have something major in our lives in common....
diabetes. I must admit, that I have thought of some of the
same questions that Herb has asked simply because I
would like to know like he does how other parts of the
world are viewing this time in history, and I have to
say that although we all live in the same world, we
(Americans and those in other countries) also live in two
totally different worlds, and unless we have walked a
mile in someone else's shoes, we must not take issue
with an innocent person's opinion. I hope that you
stick with us and know that we along with you hope to
<!--more-->
find peace soon! Please continue to feel welcome among
your diabetes family. You have on several occasiions
given me (like Herb and John and so many others)
inspiration in my continued walk through diabetes!! Please
take care Cheeky! I just wanted to remind everyone
that we are ALL different, in many ways
(nationalities, race, sex, age etc.) yet we all have one thing in
commone and I would like to keep this a place where we
can discuss this. I hope this finds everyone well.

CHEEKY: You have my profound and sincerest
apologies for having trapped you in an untenable situation.
I never considered what other peoples reactions
might be. And I should have known better. Please
forgive me.<br

CHEEKY: When I said that I did not want to debate
or argue I also meant that it was not my intent to
bring that about bertween you and any one else. I did
choose a subject that is not germane to this board. For
this reason I will not continue here although I would
like to continue trying to understand. If you would be
interested in continuing our discussion please contact me at
hjs38@.... Thank You!!<br

Thanks John. I just joined this list not long
ago, and have gotten some good information from it,
so..I am sorry to say I will no longer be able to
participate...at least not for a while. I am in the process of
moving/making changes in my life and won't have computer access
for a time. I am writing this just in case there is
negative response to my previous post. While I hope my
email does not inflame anyone, I sincerely hope the
other Americans on this list will not sit back and
allow this country to be put down by ANYONE. And, to
the list moderators, my apologies for getting off
topic. I just could not let the comments about the
American action in Afghanistan<br
everyone, and thanks for all the good advice I've gotten
here.

A great response Dorsey I agree 100% . There is
no war that is totally free of non-combatant losses
and for someone to argue differently is nonsense. The
response from Saudi Arabia would have us just sit back and
be overrun by terrorists on our own soil. Just
understand they always say , just listen and things will be
better ....yeah right the time for listening is over
now. The response that we are waging is calculated to
bring about a bare minimum of civilian casualties , and
is not directed toward the citizens of Afghanistan .
Anybody who argues differently is displaying a simple
lack of understanding. JOHN

Hi.....I don't think the purpose of the bombing
should be seen as an attempt to get at one person. It is
an attempt to stop terrorist acts against Americans.
The Sept. 11th attack, while by far the worst and the
first on American soil, it was not the first attack on
Americans. Following attacks on our embassies around the
world, our government exhibited *amazing* restraint in
not taking overt action at those times. Thousands of
people (Americans and citizens of other countries) lost
their lives on Sept. 11th, and the targets of those
attacks were *exclusively* non-combatants. The assassins
DELIBERATELY SELECTED INNOCENT, UNARMED CIVILIANS for that
murderous attack. Our military is making every attempt to
hit strategic, military targets. We are targeting
armed, trained military personnel. There has never been
<!--more-->
a war in which innocents did not die. We did not
start this one. If you want someone to blame for the
innocents dying in Afghanistan, look due East.
