Hi Herb, I was just wondering, I too take my
Glucophage at meal time, but I was just wondering if you
took yours prior to your meal or just afterwards. I am
presently taking the glucotrol just prior to and the
glucophage just afterwards. My doctor just told me to take
them with my meal, not saying before or after. I got
the information to take them the way I do from their
respected websites, but sometimes still suffer from the
stomach upset and was wondering how you took yours.
Thanks in advance. <br

That is WONDERFUL news!! I am also on Glucophage
since April of this year, and it has done really well
for me. As to the weight gain, I've heard it will
actually help to lose weight, but the other med that I am
on, Glucotrol, which did not work for me on its own,
but with the combo of the two I've "normalled" out, I
have heard that the glucotrol will actually cause some
to gain a little. I guess with me, they have
equalled each other out, I have not gained nor lost any
more. I had lost around 50 pounds prior to being
diagnosed and really did not need to lose anymore, but
definately did not want to gain it back. <br
warning on the Glucophage-- You may experience some
stomach upset for the first few weeks, at times it can be
pretty bad. But just hang in there, it DOES get better
<!--more-->
and for me, the advantages (lower BS #'s) have far
outweighed that problem, which at times still occurs, but
not with the intensity of the first couple of weeks.
My numbers went from 400 and above to now almost
always under 140, I'm consistently below 120 most of the
time. So hang in there and GOOD LUCK with the new
medication. The Lord is wonderful and surly will provide when
we need it, He knows more so than we!<br
care everyone,<br
