Glucophage Question

Hey all! The dr finally came to the clinic here
on campus yesterday and I saw him. He prescribed
Glucophage twice a day. It will be a while ( few weeks)
before I can afford to get the prescription filled, but
I have a question. FOr those of you who take
Glucophage, is it one of the diabetes medications that can
caue you to gain weight? I hope not because I do not
need to do that. Could someone let me know?

    Dear Karla,<br
    year ago and am on 1000 mgs. of glucophage a day. It
    has not caused me to gain weight and, in fact, have
    lost a lot of weight. My blood sugar stays between 85
    and 115 so am well-controlled with glucophage plus a
    strict diet. Hope this has helped.<br
