You Guys Are The Best!!!

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

I am so glad I joined this club. You all will
never know how much I appreciate the support and all
the helpful information. As you all know I am sure,
the first few weeks and months dealing with diabetes
are the most difficult until you come to some kind of
acceptance and get into a diet/medication/testing routine.
You’re in an emotional tailspin and you guys and a very
supportive husband have helped me through it. Thank you so
much!

How Many Carbohydrates?

Monday, February 13th, 2006

This may seem a silly question, but I am VERY new
at this. I am with my husband on a college campus
and the only dr I can afford is the one who comes to
the clinic here, and I am not sure when he is going
to be here again, so I am pretty much figuring this
out on my own. I am not even sure if I am going to be
on meds or not until I get to see him. Can anyone
tell me exactly how many carbs I am supposed to be
eating each day? Like I said, I am totally inexperienced
with this and pretty much on my own right now and I
don’t want to make things even worse with my
inexperience. I will somehow do what I am told if only someone
will tell me what it is I am supposed to do. I’d
appreciate any help. Thanks!

Just a test to see if I’m still alive. Been away a long time. (Not in jail or
comparible accommodation.)<br

Thanks for the encouragement!

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

Thank you everyone for all the kind words and the
encouragement. I appreciate it! I should find out in the next
couple of days just what, if any medication I need, and
just exactly what my personal target blood sugar range
should be. I seem to be getting alot of conflicting
information, but hopefully that will be straightened out. I’ll
let you know. Thanks again!

Newly Diagnosed

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

Hi everyone. I’m a 36 year old female from Ky and
I have learned I have diabetes. I check my blood
sugar twice a day and I just began the Diabetic
Exchange diet. I am very discouraged because I do not
think I can stick to it. I cannot live this way the
rest of my life. I am angry because I do not
understand why I had to get this stupid disease which will
control me the rest of my life. I am also scared to
death! If anyone has any encouragement or words of
wisdom for me, I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks!
