type 11

i am a type 11 diabetic just diaganosed with diabetic retinopathy and cataracts
on both eyes and very scared of losing my sight. aaaanyone else have these
things wrong with them?

    ringeyell- I have had cataracts removed from both
    of my eyes and got along fine with that. With the
    diabetic retinopathy you need to make sure and be seen by
    an Ophthalmologists at least every six months. I
    have had laser surgery in both eyes several times and
    am currently doing pretty good. But you do need to
    stay on top of it. The damage that is done can not be
    reversed so the laser needs to be done at the right
    time.<br

    Yes, I have had both. I have retinopathy that has been treated with laser. Had
    two cataracts removed last year and doing ok.<br
