Needs suggestions

Monday, October 31st, 2005

Thanks to mytcelt for the message from July 31st.
My daughter was diagnosed only 2 weeks ago with type
1. We need some suggestions for snacks for her. She
has to limit her calorie intake because she is a
little overweight. If anyone has any great suggestions
either for recipes, snacks, web sites that can help, it
would be greatly appreciated. I keep telling her that
she has to drink lots of water, but she got so tired
of drinking water before her diagnosis, she won’t do
it. We are hoping to get her on a pump in the future.
Thanks in advance for help. By the way, her name is
Hollie and she is 11 and going into 6th grade.

Help

My best friend has been in the hospital again
with CHF from fluid retention. Her body doesn’t use
the insulin it produces and it rejects the shots she
takes each day. Her Doctor is in a VERY small town and
she need information about treatment. She lives in
Oklahoma but might be willing to travel to a hospital or
clinic to get help. Any ideas? Where is top research
being done? Any other resources? Please e-mail me with
the info. at gina@….<br

Research Points to Stem Cell Therapy for
Diabetes<br
researchers said on Tuesday they had succeeded in coaxing
human embryonic stem cells into producing the hormone
insulin, in a key step toward creating a revolutionary
treatment for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes.<br

fertilization were transformed with chemical prodding into an
abundant mass of cells possessing important qualities of
the cells of the pancreas that secrete insulin, the

Checking in

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

I’ve been one of those who’s been popping in and
out without saying much. I’ve been kind of in the
dumps, and spending most of my time with a grief club I
belong to. The first anniversary of my Mom’s death is
rapidly approaching. Their house is now empty and up for
sale. The house seems as lonely without them as I am.
My eating is erratic, but I’ve been good about
monitoring at least. Sugar level has been fair, so I’ve
nothing to complain about there. Hope all’s well with
everyone! Jo

Herb..and all others also……………

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

Herb is a good man to have on here. Gives a lot
of his time and writes sense. We should have more
people like that. We must all post….even short
messages. People look and if nothing is happening they go
on. We all have to make it happening. So post already
and then people will not go on but answer your
posting …that way we all contribute to a good posting
board.<br

Jodi and I would like to let you all know that we

church members is in the local hospital in the exact<br
position I was in 2 years ago. He has lost his big toe but
it won’t heal and<br
foot. We are going to see him in a little<br
This will be especially hard for Jodi. She took her
nurses training in<br
they tried to kill me. She has some very<br
negative feelings about our local medical community and is
afraid<br
inapropriate. This is why we<br
needs. Be praying that we might say and<br
things while there with Bill Tillman.<br
