Hair Loss

My husband’s doctor told him that his sudden hair
loss could be from his diabetes. Anyone else had that
happen? <br
full head of hair. Now he has thin spots in the back.
There is no family tie we can see. Anyone had that
happen?<br

Hi Robbie! I am new here and I just read your
message about your husband’s hair loss. I have been a
very brittle diabetic for 21yrs. Growing up I aways
had very thick hair and in the past 3yrs I have
noticed that my hair has become very thin. I wasnt aware
that blood sugars can cause thinning hair. I guess
this must be another side effect of blood sugar
control and another reason to keep on top of things!

My hair thinned out drastically a year ago, and
what woman needs that to happen!!<br
recommended I try taking zinc and that helped a lot,
producing new hair growth which I could really see - my
hair loss was in the front. Now I take a good mineral
supplement when I feel the need and things seem to be OK. My
hair is not as thick as it was, but there are no
    threadbare patches!<br

Talking about hair loss! Mine has thinned out in
the front, too, and am now wondering if its from the
    diabetes (I was diagnosed 6 mos. ago).<br
zinc are you taking? What type of mineral supplement
are you taking? Thanks for your help.<br

Keene, when I took zinc by itself I took just one
zinc complex 200 mg tablet a day. I would just take
one course and then leave it for a while as to take
zinc constantly can upset the balance of other
minerals in your body. Very soon after starting to take it
I would be able to see a lot of new hair growing
along my hair line, and my nails would also grow
better. It also helped greatly as far as memory and
    concentration goes as well.<br
    contribute to hair loss.<br
supplement I got from a health food store which is for hair,
skin and nails, which is made by an Australian
company. I’m sure you would be able to find something
    similar in the U.S.<br
biotin (good for condition of hair), calcium, iodine,

    iron, magnesium and zinc.<br
