glasses maybe? Would it help you if we would write in CAPITAL LETTERS for you

hey all… had a really bad week, feeling pretty
rotten in general. i know that there are much worse
things to have, but sometimes i get so discouraged by
this disease its like im suffocating. its hard to
convince myself on days like this that everything is going
to be ok. im 19 years old, and i have a lifetime of
carbohydrate counting and people not understanding ahead of
me… it really stinks. any words of cheer? i could
really use them right about now.<br

I haven’t been back since my original post. Been
reading up on diabetes and trying to understand what is
happening with my body. I’m less confused than I was but
not by a lot. I’ve been checking my levels 3-4 times
a day and watching my intake carefully, with no
success. It seems that I just can’t lower my levels with
diet. My lowest was this AM, 186 after fasting. My
highest so far was 347, scared the you know what out of
me. I know there are people with levels over 400 at
times but I had never gone over 286 before. Any
suggestions? I’m not sure if what I’m eating is right…I try
to stay below 3 carbs per meal but even with that my
counts are high. Help!<br

Make sure your thyroid function has been checked. Low thyroid can definately
cause hair loss. Don’t know if diabetes does or not, but if circulation is
impaired it would make sense. -Dona

My husband’s doctor told him that his sudden hair
loss could be from his diabetes. Anyone else had that
happen? <br

On another board I saw what subject gets people
posting a lot. Well, well now I know also!!! <br

the mirror every day. Left foot, all around….right
foot ALL around…(makes me soooo dizzy)..hair, all
around (yes still look good with that curly hair, all
white however like silver in the sun. No wonder Johanna
want’s me in the kitchen to dry the pots and pans. The

Last week my company started laying off people.
With the economy being so bad, sales are down and
management needs to cut ‘fixed costs.’ We were told that
unless things get better, we could be looking at more
layoffs in 3-6months. I’m on my own, so there is no one
else’s salary to fall back on and on top of that is the
health insurance issue. Of course, none of this has
happened to me yet, but I would like any input any of you
have about how to get medical care and medications
here in the USA when your health insurance runs out. I
know I can COBRA my plan but at my age there is no
guarantee that I can get another job that includes medical
before my benefits (and/or money) run out. When this
happened to me before, I didn’t have anything chronically
wrong so I was able to weather the storm. I want to
