excessive sweating
Does anyone know if excessive sweating is in any
way associated with diabetes. Indeed, it is hot down
here in Texas but I sweat even in the house when the
air conditioning is colder than ice. Outside is even
worse! Doesn’t matter what season of the year it is.
Inside or out, I break out in a sweat all over my body,
drenching my clothes in a matter of minutes. Even my hair
drips sweat as my head sweats so much. Very
embarrassing, especially when no one else around me is
sweating!<br
replacement therapy. Just doing some light housework today,
with the airconditioning on 70 degrees, I’m soaked!

I am not sure. The only time I sweat is when I have very low blood sugar.
Other than that I don’t have a problem with it.

Hi FiggyPie.<br
to radiate heat and sweat a lot. When I became
diabetic I was radiating/sweating more. At that time I was
living in Boston. I went on Glutrol XL 5mg/day. My
radiating stopped and I was actually cold occasionally!!
*g<br
spring/summer/fall/winter w/o problems w/heat. I was cold in the brief
winter we had. Then my doc here in Texas wanted me to go
on Glucophage XR 500mg/day. Within a month my old
radiation was back. My dose of Glucophage was recently
upped to 1000 mg/day. Right now…the house doesn’t
feel cool…and I have a fan blowing right on
me…with 2 ac’s on. <br
month (damnit!) and i KNOW it’s not hot flashes
TYVM!<br
might be something you can fix. Best of
luck.<br

After about five years with type one ‘betes, I
got Dx’d with hyperactive thyroid. This manefested
itself with the sweats, heart palpitations, feelings of
extreme anxiety.<br
thyroid panal to be run next blood test. It would mean
two or three courses of therapy. One, you get a
tablet once a day to block the symptoms. two, you’d get
a dose of radiated iodine or three, you’d have the
thyroid removed surgically.<br
what is it, they do the pill first. Get it checked
out. I was extremely intolorant to heat and sweated
all the time.<br
iodine, now have barely any thyroid function, but take my
synthroid once a day and am fine.

figgy,<br
of some hormone. Not alot of help right. Sorry.<br
have just the oppisite I have stopped perspiring at
all. I cannot tolerate outside heat at all in the
summertime. No way for my body to cool. I asked my Dr. about
it and he does not seem concerned, just told me to
avoid the heat best I could and I I can’t to take a
spray water bottle along and spray myself ever so often
and let it evaporate. I asked if it was due to my DM
and he said it could be, I had evidently stopped
manufacturing some hormone. <br
nuisance, excess or not at all.<br
