Sorry I haven't been around the last few days.
Actually took some time for myself. <br
about the price of bananas or the drug companies who
try to put us under?????>><br
about the price of bananas (hahaha); have a few things
to say about drug companies, but I'm not sure
they're printable. <br
you started off when diagnosed with
diabetes?>><br
still struggling with diet and taking blood sugar
readings. I'm lucky that my doctor has decided to control
via diet (she briefly put me on glucophage, then
changed her mind). But I have some serious weight issues
to deal with (a long time problem). I'm also in the
midst of probate on my dad's estate, and that has been
<!--more-->
very stressful. <br
the neighbors?>><br
unsocial condo complex. I have but one immediate neighbor,
whose primary language is not English. We all co-exist
amicably enough, but I would not say I have friends
here.<br
live????>><br
but still pretty warm for this area this time of
year.<br
family.?????>><br

John lots of women don't talk about breast
cancer.<br
very involved with BC support groups on line<br
there are so many things that the doctors don't tell
you that only a person who has been through it can
understand.<br
also. I'm still so new to it. My first 3 month test was
9.5 and now I am at 6.8. Dr.<br
my bs readings.<br

lol... so glad we have you around to keep
everyone posting =). it was the second anniversay of my
diabetes diagnosis this monday... not one of the finer
points in my life, but i have survived it. Ive been on
the insulin pump for a little over a year (as i am
always advocating on this site, you guys probly get sick
of hearing me promote minimed... lol, they should
pay me for all the advertising i do!!) But, i like to
remind people that diabetes is only one small part of my
life. im currently a math major at the university of
connecticut... i LOVE it there (i know, math major, i must be
psychotic right?) so this summer im working in a tax office
and doing a research grant and trying to fit a social
life in there somewhere. i find it especially hard to
readjust myself as far as blood sugars go now that im
<!--more-->
home... such different activity levels than at school.
the pump helps of course, but its still really
frustrating to do everything right and then get bad numbers
anyways. my family and friends are very supportive,
thankfully. my insurance company is another story... they are
so difficult to deal ith sometimes, its hard not to
get angry.. they send me nice letters from their
diabetes programs telling me how they want me to be
healthy, but when i actually need them to HELP me be
better, by getting a new tester, going ont he pump, what
have you, nothing but red tape. theyre such
hypocrites. i guess its better than no insurance at all
though... i dont think i could afford to live with diabetes
otherwise.<br
lol... keep posting, this site has been a real comfort
to me. hope to read (and write) more soon!)<br

SHARON,....that BC is a a HELL of a scare. And I
for one am VERY glad you are still
here!!!!!!<br
years ago. She doesn't like to talk about it much. You
never forget but like Vietnam and as a hungerwinter
survivor in 1944 talking about it is either not believed
or they don't understand.<br
