Fantastic Kids

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

The phone rang this morning and we got a
surprise. Our kids called to say that they weren’t<br
happy with what they got done this past weekend and
that they have had<br
coming back this coming weekend and<br
weekend. I don’t know what we ever did to deserve the
kids<br
fathers day weekend though.<br
allowed to work. It will be a play weekend.<br

E-CLINICS: READ THIS BEFORE YOU LOG ON

Saturday, November 27th, 2004

With the click of a mouse, you can now step into
an e-clinic, a virtual medical office on the
internet. There, doctors and nurses review your vital signs
on a regular basis — usually for a fee — and
respond with personalized medical advice.<br
with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, heart
disease, hypertension, and depression may benefit the most
from these new internet sites, says Edward Shortliffe,
MD, PhD, an internist and professor of medical
informatics at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New
York City. “By investing a few minutes a day at home,
you can track your health, thereby avoiding
complications, frequent medical emergencies, and excessive
doctor visits,” he says.<br

Memorial weekend

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004

Hi everyone: We had a good weekend with 2 of our
junior Shaw<br
Beth and Rick. They have always<br
family get togethers so much. Jodi and I have gotten a
cell<br
off peak minutes so<br
touch with Beth. At $50 dollars a month that is<br
worlds cheaper than the long distance bills would be.
The boys were busy<br
new insulation and re-sheetrocked the<br
the den. All we have to do now is to bed and tape it
and then<br
because the fancy lighting system<br
installed had to be finished before we could put the<br
ceiling in. We hired a local electrician last week to

50 units/dating

Monday, November 15th, 2004

On the fifty units…If it’s working for you,
it’s good. It’s when you’re taking a lot of insulin
and eating, eating, eating, to cover it, getting
heavier and heavier that problems come
about.<br
a day, and sometimes over 110. I was also eating
like a horse to ‘feed the insulin’. Now on the pump,
I’m at about 40-55 units a day….total.<br
Dx’d six months aftr I got married. When we split up
later (5 years) my ex tried to blame my diabetes and
bad eyes (From birth) and that HE couldn’t cope with
it. Well, he ‘coped’ with me going out to busk (play
music) on the street for money to pay bills whilst he
laid around the house, He ‘coped’ with me going out to
gigs to earn sixty-seventy pounds for two hours’ work,

50 units

Saturday, November 13th, 2004

Is 50 units of 70/30 insulin 2 times a day alot?
My family thinks so and are worried. I started out
taking 20 units in the AM and 20 in the PM and my sugar
was still averaging 250. My doctor suggesteed that I
increase it 10 units at a time until it gets to a normal
level. Since I’ve been taking 50 units my sugars have
now gone down to almost normal averaging 130-150 the
most.
