Sorry I’ve been absent, the house is all finally
done and we’re waiting for the final sign-off from the
building inspector.<br
just waiting on a referral to an endo covered by my
insurance, and I have my retina exam on the first of

Scared..

Wednesday, August 4th, 2004

For a while now I have suspected that I might
have diabetes. I am a 36 yo male. Most symptons check
out(thirst, urination, overweight, etc) But (call me a wuss)
I am terrified to find out. Visions of amputation
and blindness scare me to no end. I am making an
appointment with a doctor tomorrow to try and set up some lab
work and tests. Any words of encouragement? TYIA

New here….

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is
Erica, and I am 23 years old. I had gestational diabetes
w/my last pregnancy. It went away when I had my son in
10/99. Then two weeks after this last christmas I ended
up in the hospital with blood sugars of 785 and
weighing just over 100 pounds. I hated it at first, but I
have gotten used to it. I have felt very alone in
this. My husband is a wonderful man, but I can’t talk
to him about my feelings on this. He tries to blame
it on other things and not face the fact that it’s
in my family. He knows it’s there, but it’s not
talked about. So I am very happy to have found a place
where my feelings have probably been felt by others. I
hope my joining is accepted.<br
