Emotional Roller Coaster
When you were first diagonsed, did you experience a roller coaster effect of
emotions? If so, how did you get them to level out?

hi….. YES… a real emotional roller coaster.
How did i level myself out? with a LOT of tears and a
great support network… without the friends that i
have, i know i never would have made it through the
initial diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. almost 2 years
later, i still have ups and downs… i think that really
its an every day conscious effort. you have to wake
up every morning and ask yourself, am i going to
control diabetes, or is it going to control me? cause
that is the fundamental choice i tihnk that everyone
with this disease faces. most days i choose to live my
life…. some days i choose to be defeated. but every day
that i choose that, is one day less that i have, and
just from reading the posts on this site i know how
important every healthy day is. I guess another thing that
helps me keep perspective is remembering all the people
who love me. when i hurt myself, they feel it too. i
dunno if this helps any… the only thing that i can
really tell you is something one of my grade school
teachers always used to tell me…. Life is a series of
choices… dont let anyone or ANYTHING else make them for
you. youre in the drivers seat. So keep your head up,
ok? hope you have a great day!!<br
