A DIABETIC NIGHTMARE.!!!!!

Friday, March 26th, 2004

On the lighter side……<br
nighmare!!!<br

agony, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite
chocolate chip cookies wafting up the stairs. He gathered
his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the
bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way
out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort
forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing
with both hands.<br
breath, he leaned against the doorframe, gazing into the
kitchen. Were it not for death’s agony, he would have
thought himself already in heaven: there, spreads out
upon newspapers on the kitchen table were literally
hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies.<br

on April 4 I went to my first diabetic education
class. well worth the $75 and i learned lots. when i
first got there, one of the doctors who was doing some
educating was asking me about my insulin.(2 shots per day)
i told her that i was able to decrease it a lot
lately because my sugar has been doing well. immediately
she replied that it was probably only a honeymoon
period and that it would probably be back up in a year.
i already had heard of this honeymoon period and it
could be true, but why couldn’t she just say something
positive like “good for you”. how annoying!<br
anyone had a positive experience with the medic alert
bracelots? i got one a couple weeks ago and was just
wondering.still new to this stuff.(type 1 since december

Dank u, idereen, voor de informatie!

Saturday, March 20th, 2004

“Thank you, everyone, for the information!”
Pardon me for showing off, but I’ve worked so hard to
learn a little Dutch and I don’t have much chance to
write in it.<br
information, I just went with using “Diabetic” in the posting
I was composing. So many English words are used in
Dutch now, and everyone there speaks English so well, I
figured he would know what I meant.<br
appreciate all the assistance you’ve given though with that
word. <br

Jenny,…suikerziekte (diabetes) suikerpatient
(diabetic) is OK. Last nite I heard also that the word
diabeet (pronounced diabate) is used for the same
purpose. The translation of the Dutch piece was right
underneath the message in English. Devlin made sure of that
because we know that no-one should speak in a language
that your company is not able to understand without a
translation.<br
agree that it is helpful to you to have your husband
eat along with you. However if my wife likes to eat
something I cannot have….more power to her. In my opinion
that diet stuff is very much overdone. Of course
coming off the regular stuff people indulge in it must
be a big change. Particularly of you are a fast-food
enthousiast. My wife Johanna cooks a normal meal like

Sunday, March 7th, 2004

Hallo John,<br
had gezegd dat u uit ‘t Nederlands
komt.<br
een letter naar een vriend in ‘t Nederlands
anschrijven, maar ik kan niet een woord dat ik zoek in mijn
woordenboek vinden.<br
“Diabetic” in de nederlandse taal?<br
woord voor “Diabetes” is suikerziekte, maar wat is de
woord voor “Diabetic”? Suikerziekteer…? Weet
u?<br
your time, but I have very few chances to practice my
Dutch. Since you said you said you come from The
Netherlands I though you may be able to help me with a
problem. I am looking for the word “Diabetic” in Dutch. I
have been able to find “Diabetes”, but not “Diabetic”.

Diabetes & Depression

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2004

Hi, I am a new member and I was wondering if any
of you out there suffer from depression like I do. I
was diagnosed as diabetic when I was 11 yrs old and
it seems like a few years prior and years since I
have had severe depression and I have read that there
is a link between diabetes and depression. So I was
hoping that I wasn’t alone in this..
