I have my work cut out for me here.!!!
First off, Amanda and Jenny. A big bouquet of
roses for you for your postings. Especially Amanda who
wrote this at age 19?? More than excellent. Life is
what you make it.!!! Indeed.!!<br
sipping in a girl in a sleeping bag, wow, why didn’t I
ever think of that.!!!<br
hear about your idea about being ashamed of having
diabetes. Why, possibly??? You know, if you have to start
to hide that from a possible boyfriend….if you
feel that you must….that fellow is not worth your
attention. You have to come out with that anyway and if you
do that at a later time he may well feel that you
don’t trust him with the truth and leave you right
there. I wouldn’t like my girlfriend hiding that from
me. Talking about trust between two people…. Not a
good start.<br
having fought my way through it for 41 years evenso I’m
now on 6 needles per day and have some serious
“horror stories” of diabetic complications under my
belt.<br
enjoyable I assure you. Not everyone will have the pleasure
of finding that out….not everyone.<br
of them??<br
once, long time ago. Yes I was!!!! We were just getting
liberated by the Canadian troops in Holland in 1945. We
just got through the Nazi occupation that ended after
5 years with a horrific hunger winter which no-one
could believe would be visited upon a “civilized
country.” That winter there was no more food for the
population and no fuel and of course it was one of the
coldest winters on record. Just when the Can. troops came
into our city (The Haque) not having anything to eat
for 3/4 months and was chewing a piece of shoeleather
to give the idea I had something to eat and all my
neighbors had died and walking on the street people dropped
dead on the sidewalk as a regular occurrence, I
collapsed. Layed on bed for 6 months having daily injections
obtained from the Canadians and slowly being brought back
in strength, I finally recovered. I was driven
around for a while to the hospital in a wheelchair
hearing people saying “OH…SO YOUNG.” <br
while to get to the horsemeat, doesn’t it.!!! Well, to
recover faster, the doctor said I should have horsemeat,
something I never eat before in my life. I remember it
tasting good and it sure helped me get on my feet. There
were only a few horsemeat butchers in town compared to
the regular butchers. We soon went back to cow
meat,….just the idea I quess.<br
episode, for my diabetes I got at age 30. Yes,…I does.
And also I want to mention that the horsemeat of a
race horse works quicker than of a regular type
horse.<br

Wow, John V! You just tired me out; time for some
more Geritol!!!<br
you than Shetland ponies? I’ll have to remember that
the next time I go shopping. LOL<br
the hardships you have been through, John. And I
think it’s wonderful that you can keep on keeping on.
Okay, I won’t be ashamed any more of being diabetic. I
always listen to my elders — :D.<br
