I have been Diabetic (Type 1) for three years
now. Two injections a day. My Father died in 1990 from
complications of Diabetes, he was 50. Since my diagnosis I have
felt that this disease is a “Death sentance”. I know
that we all go through the “emotional ups and downs”
but I cannot seem to shake this feeling of doom. I
think that my main problem is the regimental aspect of
this disease, inject the insulin, test your blood,
watch what you eat, do this, do that. It’s enough to
drive you crazy! And then there’s; “If you don’t do
this you’ll”, go blind, lose a limb, kidney failure,
heart disease, coma, death. Very overwhelming! The
worst feeling for me is when my blood sugar drops too
low, feels really bad. Going out to eat is another
story; “excuse me, I have to sneak of to the bathroom

Friday, September 26th, 2003

I’ve been a type 2 diabetic for about 5 years
now. Lately i’ve really been dealing with my blood
sugars being too high. I also was sick for 3 weeks last
month and i’ve been battling a sinus virus again for
the past 11 days now. Needless to say i’m sick of
being sick LOL I was just recently switched to a new
doctor and was just informed last week that if my sugars
don’t start improving i’ll be looking at insulin
UGH!!!! My mother was diabetic and died in the hospital
in 1991 after having her 2nd leg amputated.
Sometimes I feel so DOOMED…and my father is a type 2
diabetic also.<br

You can relax. I have 41 years of diabetes
mellitus and are now on 6 needles per day. There are pumps
also in particular for younger people.<br
you can eat.????? Before going into detail about that
I like to say that you can eat everything you did
eat before EXCEPT…..<br
candies, cakes ect.<br
in short….use MODERATION. This is the WORD you
should write down on a big piece of paper and hang it on
the frig. (Cooler.) Get rid of your tempting things
like chocolades….OUT of the house.<br
use MODERATION in the amounts of what you eat you
will soon learn what is right and what is wrong for
you by testing your blood many times per
day.<br

diabetic pomeranian! He’s six, named Conan and weighs
10lbs. He gets 1 unit of NPH am and pm. I’ll like to see
the peakless insulin come out, because he’s a little

Hello everyone,<br
the May issue of Diabetes Forecast.
Enjoy.<br
moments in the stream of life rush past us
and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit
us, and we only know them when they are gone. George
Eliot<br
listen to my heart to make my own decision, but my head
also listens to people whom I respect. My friend Bob
Esbjornson refers to angels as “messengers of El,” the
Hebraic idea of angel. The book of Hebrews has a
statement about angels: “Do not neglect to show hospitality
to strangers, for thereby some have entertained
angels unawares.” I have heard and read that statement
many times over the years. I have wondered at its

I,m high on sunshine this morning. Any higher and
I’m gone.!!!! Well,….a bit of a story here for your
entertainment I hope…….<br
Yesterday was the first day of spring and boy was it ever.
We went for our daily walk and the sun was shining
like it had fun in doing so and there was no wind
blowing. Sun shine today, good for all the Americanskies
who are visiting Vancouver for the World Figure
Skating Competitions. Your Todd Elderidge is 2nd so far
after the Russian. Our Stoyko has fallen apart. But he
CAN do it.———<br
the daily grind of care taking in Diabetes think back
to the past from time to time. However with 18
medical treatments per day I could be even more inclined
that way. But when I think of the alternative I think
