Glandular, something different to see.

Seems all diabetics fall asleep from time to
time, maybe this will wake them up.<br
very interesting. Glandular,… many glandular
diseases can be started by auto-immune responses. That is
all-ready decided in the embryo. The developing embryo has
three layers of cells; the ectoderm giving rise to skin
and nerves, then the mesoderm, it becomes muscles,
blood, arteries, veins and the heart. Now watch this!!!
The third layer, the endoderm gives rise to the
lining of the stomach and intestines and related glands
and organs, including, YES the pancreas, thyroid
gland and gastric parietal cells. It appears that the
immune systems of some people, for reasons yet unknown,
attack RELATED tissues. These are referred to as
clusters. So, we have to watch out for thyroid disease and

adrenal gland disease and any other related gland
diseases as well. Not everybody reacts to this but many
do. Something to think about. JOHN V.

John, if the glandular vs. auto-immune system
theory needs support from family statistics, I offer
mine. Of my parents 5 children (all girls) #1.
    Inflammatory bowel disease<br
    cancer (deceased)<br
    arthritis<br
    (me)<br
suspected of being auto-immune diseases and familial.
Hopefully genetic testing will be able to eradicate or
    repair them in future generations.

John- the grandular article was interesting. I
know for one that after many years of D I now have
several other grandular diseases such as thyroid. It will
be interesting if we see any work done on this.

    Polyglandular imunity dysfuctions were lightly
breezed over by my doctor and he said it could have been
    caused by my prematurity.<br

work and music. I kept the BGs down and woke to a 113
this morning, but no prob. I’d had a late dinner/snack
when I got unwound from all the work (at about 1:20 am
and am now awake at 7:50, woke up at
    6:55am)…<br
that can’e wait ’til tomorrow or later.<br
smelled a fresh orange, and my new puppy had decided to
go out to the yard and bring in an orange that fell
from our tree…(Sigh) among OTHER things…CYA
    later.<br

Interesting because I have hypothryroidism and
type II. Both were diagnosed at the same time. And I
kind of figured there was a relationship. Years ago my
mother suffered from problems in her pregnancies (I
suspect she had hyperglycemia among other things because
she is now a type II and I also had hyperglycemia
when preganant) The only normal pregnancy she had was
with one of my brothers and the doctor had her on
thyroid medication. Makes one wonder, doesn’t it? I also
have another brother who has had thyroid problems and
being overweight and type II is rampant in the last two
    generations of my family. -Dona
