Thanks, Cheryl. I’m glad you can be off your
cholesterol medication. I’m also on Niacin at night, so the
Zocor and the Niacin combined are pruducing lots of
unpleasant side effects. One wonders whether it’s worth it
or not. I’m just going to have to experiment around
I guess. know how beautiful that area of the country can be in
the spring! support.

Keene: cholesterol now. take any more medication (yes, the side effects were
that bad); quit eating things that were high in
cholesterol, lost some weight and started getting a little
more exercise. It still shows a little high, but the
doctor is no longer worried about it. is on Lipitor and she isn’t having any problems with
it. If your cholesterol is very high, I suppose you
will have to try a different med. Good luck to

Cheryl, thanks so much for your reply. The
symptoms you described are mine also. I’ll call my doctor
on Monday and request a change. Have you tried
Lipitor? I have to try something as my cholesterol is not
good.

Keene: made my life miserable. Every muscle in my body ached
and I would lay in bed at night crying from the pain.
I had headaches from it, and it disrupted my
digestive system badly. I know quite a few people who had
to go off of it for the same reasons (including my
mother); but then again, I know people who tolerate it
very well. (Breakit)

Thanks, John, for your very positive message to
all of us. I’ve been off the computer for a week
visiting with my daughter and her two children here and it
was nice to be back and read your message. You are a
very positive person. doctor put me on zocor for cholesterol (40 mgs. a day)
last week and I’m having all sorts of stomach aches,
muscle aches, and just general flu-like symptoms. Am
also on 2000 mgs. metformin a day. I tolerate the
metformin well, but am really having trouble with the
zocor. Does anyone else have a problem like
this?

Hey John, I appreciate you posting the Rules and
Guidelines for Diabetics. It tells it like it is. We’ll all
have a better chance at a longer and healthier life if
we follow these rules and guidelines. things don’t always come out right, even though, we are
following the rules. But more often than not, we will have
more problems if we don’t follow the diabetes
rules. your contributions to Diabetes and Your
