A LITTLE LOVE BOOST

A Mouthful of Laughter by Barbara
Johnson:<br
will keep me young?” Is the secret of youth different
for everyone, or is there some universal antiaging
potion?<br
drug of choice. Simple as that. Laughter is the
language of the young at heart and the antidote to what
ails us. No drugstore prescription is required;
laughter is available to anyone at any time. Laughter’s
benefits are felt immediately. With large doses, the
benefits show on our face, in our body language, and in
the spring in our step. So who needs a face-lift or
crazy diets that don’t work!<br
one laugh burns six calories? Laughing is jogging for
your insides. It increases heart rate and circulation,

A Poem I’ve Found Lovely…

Nothing related to the topic, just thought that
this poem is simple, yet beautiful, and would like to
show it to those who haven’t seen it yet.

Wonderful group

Wednesday, February 12th, 2003

I was thinking of starting a group just like this
one. I was diagnosed with type 1 when I was 21, but no
one was sure if I was type 1 or 2 for a long time. I
didn’t get my sugars under control until I got my pump
last summer. My last A1c was 5.5! <br
struggled with depression since jr high and it feeds on the
diabetes and the diabetes feeds on the depression. It’s
better with the pump as I can lead a more normal
lifestyle, but it never really goes away.<br
am now 25, working on my degree in social work. One
of my professional goals is to work with people and
help them deal w/ chronic illness.<br

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

Wednesday, February 12th, 2003

From Reader’s Digest:<br
people in New York City showed that 80 percent of them
wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the world. Besides,
it was reported it would violate the terms of their
parole.<br
huge managed-care network? HMO officials said they’ll
find out what the doctors’ demands are — as soon as
they can get a pharmacist to go over there and read
the picket signs.<br
club named a drink Lilac Crazy in honor of one of the
members. Every time the member came to the l9th hole,
that’s exactly what he did.<br

Hi! :)

Saturday, February 8th, 2003

I came across this club by accident, and it seems
to be pretty interesting. Personally, I don’t have
Diabetes or anything else near it, but I want to know more
about y’all. Firstly, I’m a student in a Nutrition
Department, and I’m doing this HUGE project on a common
illness of our choice. I chose diabetes, of course. My
name is Winnie Tanaka, by the way. Secondly, I want to
be more aware of this condition, so that I can help
some of my friends who are pretty down cos’ they’re
ill. So… I would be content if I could just observe
and look around, if no one minds?<br

New Member Intro

Monday, February 3rd, 2003

Hi Everybody: Thank you for the invite to join
this club; looks like I know a few people in here –
LOL. For those that don’t know me, you will get to
know me well in a short length of time. I love to post
– jokes, quotes, stories — anything to take our
minds off this illness as much as possible. I have been
diabetic for 22 years, I test 6x daily; and take 4 shots a
day. It started out by being gestational diabetes; I
was warned by the doctor that if I didn’t lose weight
and start exercising I would have it back — guess
what, that doctor was absolutely right. And I was wrong
(for the first and last time in my life — ha ha).
Nice meeting all of you.<br

Hey Yall!

Hi Taty,<br
writing this about me?It sure sounded like it. I am 47
years old-A recovering alcoholic-and now 6 months ago I
was told that I have type 2 diabetes.I was put on
glocovance for it and told to watch my diet and then told
good luck! Well you can imagine how this hit me . I
know nothing about diabetes. Just what I have learned
lately-I tired to ignore it but now I have been told thatr
I have nerve damage to both my feet.My blood sugar
levels run from 50 to 280 sometoimes back & forth in a
week . So do my moods. Are my moods connected to my
sugar levels? They just started here a Diabebtes
wellness program at the hospital where I work and I was
thinking about joining it.Heck I don’t know -I just want
it to go away. Now along with my alcohol recovery I
