Welcome

to Diabetes and Your Emotions!<br
mentioned in the founders message that I’ve had Diabetes
for 30 years. Since I was diagnosed so young, I
really didn’t have the chance to go through an
adjustment period. I didn’t always stay on top of things
when it came to controlling my sugars. I didn’t really
start thinking about controlling my sugars until I was
about 12 years old, that’s when I was told that I
needed lazer surgery in both eyes. Even then, I still
didn’t seriously start to take care of myself until I
was 14 years old. I started testing my sugars daily.
I would get upset when it seemed that I had tried
my best but the glucose monitor would give me a bad
reading.<br
quite a few severe lows. A Diabetes Educator suggested

that I be put on an insulin pump. I feel that it has
help me considerably.<br
sometimes at having to test my sugars and doing all that I
must do to keep my blood glucose as close to normal at
possible. It helps that I have people that understand me.
My fiance is very understanding of my
condition.<br
