Thanks for the invite! I’m new here

Thursday, January 30th, 2003

Taty, thank you so much for your invitation. I
read some of the posts and this sounds like a good
club, so I thought I’d take the plunge and see what
it’s all about.<br
May), I have been diabetic for 12 years now. I was
diagnosed on my 32nd birthday! What a present! I am on 3
oral meds, Glucophage, Glucotrol XL, and Actos. I need
to lose weight and my sugars are out of control
right now. My doc and I are working on it now and I
hope to be in better shape soon.<br
widow, I lost my DH to cancer in October 2000. So, I am
dealing with his loss, as well. While he was sick, I put
on a lot of weight and took care of him instead of
myself. I miss him a lot, he was my support system for
dealing with the diabetes and now I don’t have anyone to

feelings. It is angry thoughts that cause us to feel angry.
Peaceful thoughts create a feeling of peace. Consider this
concept and check it out for yourself. Whenever you are
aware of an identifiable feeling, check on your
thoughts. And, if you wish to change a feeling, see what
happens when you change your thoughts.<br
words are the basis for thoughts, consider your use of
certain words and what thoughts and feelings arise from
them. Do you “test” your blood glucose or do you

Others will see the difference as

Hello folks new guy in town. Thanks for the invite…<br

Welcome Everyone!

Friday, January 24th, 2003

Hello All Members,<br
each and everyone of you to our new club. It’s a great
pleasure to have you with us, and I’m sure we can develop
strong bonds with one another and lend the support and
information many of us need to deal with Diabetes either in
ourselves or for those we love dearly. I know that this
club means something very special to Taty, who I love
dearly and who I see on a day-to-day basis what Diabetes
does to a person and how it infringes upon daily life.
Just having this alone is enough to drive someone
crazy if there aren’t enough support groups to help a
person cope, and because every person is different, each
person is affected by this condition in different ways,
but I see first hand how it can affect the
emotions.<br

Hi, I am new too!

Thanks for the invite to the new club. My husband
was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes in January. It was
quite a shock for him. He is scared to death of
needles. He has really worked on eating right and
exercise. Right now he is not on any meds. His doctor has
given him 1 month to try to get his blood sugar down to
under 125 each morning. We are working as a team to get
this under control. I really think this kind of club
can help us understand what is happening to
him.<br

Thanks for joining

Hi everyone!<br
you accepting my invitation to join Diabetes and Your
Emotions.<br
finding a club that offered the kind of information that
I was looking for. Since I find that I get
frustrated sometimes about having Diabetes, and I would just
like to get rid of it but can’t. I thought that I
would create my own club, where I can share information
and find support with other people that can relate to
my condition.<br
doesn’t have Diabetes, there are a lot of people that may
have a friend or a loved one that has Diabetes and may
be looking for a place to vent, find information and
support.<br

Beating Bad Feelings (tommytga)

Sunday, January 12th, 2003

Hi Taty,<br
writing this about me? It sure sounded like it. I am 47
years old-A recovering alcoholic-and now 6 months ago I
was told that I have type 2 diabetes.I was put on
glocovance for it and told to watch my diet and then told
good luck! Well you can imagine how this hit me. I
know nothing about diabetes. Just what I have learned
lately-I tired to ignore it but now I have been told thatr
I have nerve damage to both my feet. My blood sugar
levels run from 50 to 280 sometoimes back & forth in a
week. So do my moods. Are my moods connected to my sugar
levels? They just started here a Diabebtes wellness
program at the hospital where I work and I was thinking
about joining it. Heck I don’t know -I just want it to
go away. Now along with my alcohol recovery I have
